Spring in West Virginia is almost as beautiful as Fall especially the evening light as shown in this PhoDigital Painting
What drew me to this backroad scene in Tucker County, West Virginia was the backlighting of the leaves in the trees as well as the soft shadows spreading out over the land.
Jim Clark and I were co-leading a workshop when we came upon this scene. We never go onto private property without permission from the owners, so this was captured from the road. As the group photographed the scene, two people on a three wheeler swept down on us from the trail in the scene. Arms waving, shouting, screaming "Who are you? What are you doing?!!!" It appears that they were in some sort of family dispute about ownership of the land and they were afraid that we had something to do with that dispute. There were some tense moments, but Jim went with them up to the farmhouse and talked to the Father for awhile, gave him a book and all was well.
Today, a double wide trailer sits on the forground area of that scene.
