The only problem with creating sunrise images is that you have to get up so early. I'm a night person and the only problem with THAT is that the lighting at night isn't the best. So, I'm trying to learn to compromise.
I did "compromise" this very cold, late September morning on top of Spruce Mountain in Elkins, WV. Although it was painfully cold, I wouldn't have missed this morning for anything and definitely plan on returning especially now that I have more experience on using that beautiful light.
This is a series of six images showing the progression of sunrise that morning. The total time elapsed didn't exceed more than 10 minutes and then this morning was gone forever.
Should you ever have a chance to take a photo safari to West Virginia, do it. The state is definitely a hidden photo opportunity. Write and I'd be happy to share some choice locations.
